For over fifteen years Aaron Hawks has consistently challenged the conventions of the practicing contemporary artist. Drawing from his varied knowledge of environmental design and craftmanship, he converges mediums as diverse as photography, sculpture, film, painting, and set design to create layered multi-media worlds as playful as they are provocative; deceptively intimate yet shrewdly cognizant of place both environmental and cultural.
His work has been presented world-wide in publications such as Taschen, Goliath, GQ Germany, and Juxtapoz Magazine and his award-winning short films have debuted in the acclaimed Coppola theater, the Roxie, and The Berkeley University Theater. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn.
